FOURTH SEED IN SEARING FORM AS 10 BRITS GO THROUGH
-
BRITISH number one Jack Draper flew the flag as he surged through to the next round at SW19 on the hottest day of the year.
The fourth seed triumphed after Argentinian Sebastian Baez retired through injury while trailing 6-2 6-2 2-1 in the final match on Court No1 yesterday.
Draper, 23, became the ninth British player left in the draw going into day three of the Wimbledon championships today.
And Jack Pinnington Jones later took it into double figures for Britain as he beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry in three sets.
Fans fainted in the stands as temperatures nudged 33C at Wimbledon while peaking at 34.7C a few miles away in St James's Park, central London.
The heat led another second-round Brit, Katie Boulter, to shade herself under an umbrella as she watched her 11th-seed boyfriend Alex de Minaur win on court 18.
