DANTE POLVARA is currently enjoying the run in the Aberdeen team he has craved because he has become a "more stable and consistent player" according to Dons boss Jimmy Thelin.

The midfielder has been in and out of the side under the Swede since he recovered from injury.

It has been a source of frustration for the popular American and has thrown his long-term Pittodrie future into doubt.

Polvara is out of contract in the summer and is attracting interest from Premiership rivals Hibernian.

The 25-year-old made it clear the main driver for him signing a new deal with the Dons would be the opportunity to get a prolonged run in the first team.

He has certainly been given that opportunity in the last three games against Kilmarnock, AEK Larnaca and Motherwell.

"He has been more stable in his position," said Thelin. "He hasn't been running around so much, so he can intercept more balls and help the defenders better.
