Couple quit life in Canada for Shetland Isles

MANY observers have remarked on the remoteness of the spot where Claire Leveque was murdered by her older lover.

Around 4,000 mlies from her home, on the face of it Shetland would appear to be a strange choice of place to relocate.

But for the 24-year-old it was actually a busier location than where she grew up.

Ms Leveque was from a town called Westlock in Alberta.

Located around 55 miles north of Edmonton, the oil-rich capital of the province, it is an agricultural community.

According to latest figures, Westlock's population is just 4,794.
