Coulthard: Crash changed my life
Scottish Daily Express
|April 17, 2025
SCOTS Formula 1 hero David Coulthard has said surviving a horrific plane crash totally changed his perspective on life.
While he was driving for the McLaren team in 2000, Coulthard was flying from Farnborough, Hampshire, to his home in Monaco on a private jet owned by Rangers chairman Sir David Murray.
However, the jet developed a technical issue, leading to an emergency landing in Lyon, France. It crashed and caught fire and captain David Saunders and co-pilot Dan Worley were both killed when the front of the aircraft broke off.
