Channel disaster as a migrant dies at sea

A MIGRANT died trying to cross the Channel on Sunday night despite the dinghy they were in being monitored by the French navy.
At least 12 asylum seekers are believed to have lost their lives attempting to reach the UK this year.
The Refugee Council yesterday urged Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer to use the UK/EU Summit to forge closer ties with the bloc to prevent more deaths.
