Brolly bad show as feminist champ on 'vandalism charge'
Scottish Daily Express
|October 30, 2025
POLICE Scotland have been accused of losing all credibility by possibly charging a feminist champion with vandalism for allegedly breaking a rainbow-coloured umbrella.
Opponents... the trans activist Tom Harlow with umbrella and the feminist campaigner Susan Smith
For Women Scotland director Susan Smith has been told to attend a police station. According to the Free Speech Union, which is supporting her, she is facing a demand to accept a Police Recorded Warning or face a criminal charge of "minor vandalism" following an incident on September 4 at a women's rights rally at Holyrood.
It relates to an alleged confrontation between Mrs Smith and infamous trans activist Tom Harlow. Pictures from the day show him with a rainbow brolly.
Campaigners claim he played loud music to drown them out.
Mrs Smith has been accused of damaging the umbrella and could appear in a criminal court if she refuses to accept the warning. It has provoked fury among Scots who have accused Police Scotland of "remaining under the spell of the SNP's trans ideology".
Police have yet to comment officially on these claims, but have been told that they face a vital decision which could damage trust in the force. It has already faced criticism for allegedly failing to deal with Mr Harlow playing loud music at the event.
