British couple locked in Iran hunger strike

A BRITISH couple held on spying charges in a hellhole prison in Iran have gone on hunger strike in a bid to force action from the UK Government.

Craig and Lindsay Foreman had been travelling the world by motorbike when they were seized by Iranian authorities as they crossed the country in January.

The Foreign Office said it is “extremely concerned” after the couple, in their 50s, were charged with espionage.

The pair are held separately in Iran's infamous Evin Prison in the capital Tehran. The facility has become notorious as a site of torture, killings and arbitrary detention of political prisoners since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
