Book fest 'a joke' as former Sturgeon aide gets key role

SCOTLAND'S premier book festival has been blasted as a “joke” after hiring a key Nicola Sturgeon advisor to a senior role.
The former First Minister is scheduled to take to the stage at the Edinburgh International Book Festival later this summer.
The event has already been criticised for failing to include any feminist writers but inviting a slate of pro-trans speakers.
And now it has been confirmed Liz Lloyd, who was Ms Sturgeon’s chief of staff for several years, has been appointed as a director of the festival.
