Gers bounce back from two big blows as Rohl notches third league win on the spin

- ANDY NEWPORT AT DENS PARK

RANGERS were left smarting after suffering more than just a blow to the head at Hampden eight days ago.

And another defeat to Roma was the latest Europa League boot to the haw maws.

But in the Premiership, Danny Rohl's appointment is proving to be the kick up the backside this stuttering outfit needed.

It's now three league wins on the spin for a team who managed just one over the course of Russell Martin's calamitous reign.

It will not be enough to have second-placed Celtic sweating just yet, never mind table-topping Hearts.

But the fans who have taken so quickly to their new gaffer will believe at last a corner has been turned on the domestic front.

Jack Butland-back in the headlines ahead of Dens after lashing out at the decision not to send off Auston Trusty for his head kick in last Sunday's Premier Sports Cup loss to Celtic was forced into an early save from Ethan Hamilton's stinging free-kick.

But two goals in five minutes handed Rangers a lead they would hold all the way to the end.

First Nico Raskin slipped his sleeping marker Billy Koumetio to nod home from James Tavernier's ninth-minute corner.

That was quickly followed by Mikey Moore's first Gers goal as he slammed home when Mohamed Diomande's pass to Danilo broke off Ryan Astley into the Tottenham teenager's path.

But Rangers allowed the game to grow scrappy after seeing VAR chalk off another Moore strike.
