Members of Mill Creek Urban Farm in West Philadelphia celebrated 20 years of serving the community during its Community Day event held on the 4900 Block of Brown Street in the Mill Creek Section of Philadelphia.
The event featured vendors, resource tables hosted by various groups and organizations, and entrepreneurs offering goods and services relevant to the community, along with music provided by a live DJ.
As fate would have it, the skies opened, and copious amounts of rain fell from the sky. While this might have kept a few people indoors, it did not dampen the event. After all, what would a farm be if there were no rain?
“I feel really happy with the way the event went,” said Julie Wise, a farmer at Mill Creek Urban Farm.
