Gold star for school from Education Scotland report

An Education Scotland report has revealed consistently high-quality teaching and learning at Calderwood Primary.

The inspection also highlighted that the Rutherglen school had an “inclusive culture” promoted by the “encouraging and nurturing relationships” between the staff and pupils.

The inspectors also noted that this led to pupils being “highly motivated” and engaged across the entire curriculum, especially showing a strong progress and attainment in literacy and numeracy.

The report also found that staff, parents and community partners worked very well together through a variety of experiences to encourage the pupils’ involvement and the benefits that can be gained from learning from each other, helping them to achieve their potential.
