School rated ‘Outstanding’ with high expectations

A ROMAN Catholic Junior School in Widnes was said by Ofsted to have Outstanding features.

The outcome came at St Bede's in Appleton Village where lead inspector Gary Bevin made a two-day visit.

Mr Bevin said the behaviour and attitudes of the pupils and their personal development was Outstanding. The quality of education and the leadership and management of the school was also Good.

The lead inspector said that evidence gathered during the inspection suggested the school’s work may have improved significantly across all areas since a previous inspection.

The school has ‘high expectations’ for the achievement of all pupils and classrooms are ‘calm, purposeful and exciting places to learn’

The ‘ambitious curriculum’ helps pupils to flourish and achieve highly.
