League victory follows cup exit

LINNETS bowed out of the Liverpool FA Senior Cup at the semi-final stage to in-form Lower Breck at Anfield Sports Community Centre.
-
The visitors had a perfect start when Adam Moseley sent them ahead after four minutes.
Linnets were then twice denied by home ‘keeper Theo Roberts before the Liverpool outfit displayed the fire-power which has so far seen them rack up 112 goals (and 100 points) in North West Counties Premier Division.
The hosts, who still have a chance of the title with Bury three points ahead with two to play, will meet Everton in the final.
Runcorn will hope for better fortunes in the showdown with Staly-bridge Celtic for the Cheshire Senior Cup at Chester on Tuesday, May 6.
Lower Brock had won their last 11 matches in all competitions, including a home victory over Prescot Cables from two divisions higher in the quarter-final of this competition.
This time they were conceding just one division to their visitors.
They have also triumphed in 12 consecutive league games since being beaten 3-2 at Bury on January 25.
Linnets showed just one change from Saturday's home defeat by Clitheroe with centre forward Ryan Brooke coming in for central defender Callum Grogan.
This was a first ever meeting of the clubs but there was a familiar face in the Lower Breck squad with former Linnets favourite Danny McKenna named on their bench.
Linnets took the lead on four minutes when Ryan Brooke played Adam Moseley through to score.
