HMO fear as bid is submitted

COUNCILLORS in an area of Widnes fear it is being 'destroyed' after plans for another controversial shared housing scheme were put forward.

A planning application has been lodged to convert a property in West Bank into a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO).

An HMO has individual bedrooms but some shared facilities, such as kitchens and bathrooms.

If approved, the application would see a property on Hurst Street converted into a six bedroom HMO.

The application has been submitted by Bastiaan Frans Gerard Rohof, who is listed on Companies House as being a director of multiple companies and is based in the Netherlands.
