Business in bid for expansion

EXPANSION plans by a Runcorn company which employs hundreds of staff in the town have been rubber-stamped.

Halton Council's planning department gave the green light to an application by joinery firm Howdens for changes to its existing site on Astmoor Road.

Approval will see a new extension built along with other changes designed to increase storage space and house more modern manufacturing equipment.

The firm is a major employer in Runcorn and in the wider Halton area. It was established in 1995 and provides trade customers with kitchens, joinery and hardware.
