A ‘HIGHLY pathogenic’ strain of bird flu has been confirmed at a popular Widnes beauty spot.

Several swans have reportedly been found dead at Spike Island in recent weeks, prompting concern among local residents and wildlife lovers.
According to posts on social media, one of the park’s most well-known birds, a much-loved swan named Tinker, was found dead in one of the holding pools on Wednesday, October 30.
