Soccer girl's goal is to be roaring success on pitch

The 13-year-old attack midfielder plays for Shawside Football Club U13s Girls and so normally assists with goals, but she was delighted in Spain, when up against a tough Icelandic team, she scored from a free-kick.

Whitworth Community High School student Anastasia said: "I have played football since I was little and will have been at Shawside for two years at the end of this year. I also play for Haslingden Girls and Ladies.

"My sister Gabriella, 15, has also played for years; she plays for Rochdale and also Haslingden."
