IMMERISVE Greenbooth: Art Meets Augmented Reality in the Heart of Rochdale
A NEW public artwork at Greenbooth Reservoir invites visitors to explore climate change, local history, and our relationship with nature through augmented reality and sound.
From local artists Sophie Cooper and Babs Smith comes Immersive Greenbooth a groundbreaking outdoor exhibition using augmented reality to transform the landscape of Rochdale's Greenbooth Reservoir. Running from May to November 2025, this free, openair experience brings together visual art and sound design to create a powerful, multi-sensory journey around the site.
Building on the success of their previous collaboration, Immersive Watergrove, Sophie and Babs combine fine art, composition, and new technology to produce six interactive installations. Each site-specific work is accessed via the free app Artivive, revealing hidden layers of sound, story, and movement embedded in the land itself.
