ROCHDALE rally driver Steve Brown will make a welcome return to the stages this weekend as he contests the Borders Competitions Jim Clark Rally and Reivers Rally in the Scottish Borders - his first competitive outing in six months.

Brown back following six months out

Brown, who has been forced to sit out several events this season due to work commitments, will head to Duns in Scotland with the sole aim of enjoying his time back behind the wheel and shaking off the cobwebs after a lengthy spell away from competition.

Having only tackled the Jim Clark event once before, Brown is looking forward to revisiting the iconic closed-road rally with a relaxed mindset.

"It’s been a long six months since I was last in a rally car, and that was a very different beast as I enjoyed my debut in the powerful, four-wheel-drive and turbocharged R5 machinery", said Brown.

"Now, we return to more familiar territory and the Nissan Micra Kit car, and it'll be great to just get back out there and enjoy the stages.
