"Meliorism is good , but during elections can be a trap
-
Part XXI of constitution of India [temporary, transitional and special provisions] held Article 370 as a special stature to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir with Article 35A supplementing the special status.
On August 05,2019,the constitution {application to J and k} order 1954 and subsequent amendments were superseded against the political will of people of J&K with many calling it a constitutional decision and many challenging its constitutionality.
Via August 05, the erstwhile state of state of J&K was bifurcated into the union territory of J&K and Ladakh with centre entertaining the heavy handedness . The governor transitioned into the Lieutenant Governor keeps ample powers for governing the UT of J&K and leaving what elected National Conference government calls very little in their hands .
The of late assembly elections after a decade in UT of Jammu and Kashmir resuscitated the matter of Article 370 and revival of statehood , wherein the former seems impossible and later equivocal.
Every contesting party , be it in INDIA bloc or other regional parties had made A370 and statehood as their electoral gimmick for winning the mandate from gullible electorate of J&K against the ruling Modi government in centre. The current National Conference government always reiterated for statehood under the opposition and the mass pressure and left the matter of Article 370 in nether .
Showcasing high energy EX ante and acting helpless Ex post elections reflects the lethargic political stance of current elected government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
