Amit Shah's Record breaking Tenure

Triumphs and Trials Ahead

- VIVEK SHUKLA

Amit Shah has recently set a record for being the longest-serving Home Minister of India. Under his leadership, the country revoked Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. He is working on multiple fronts, and his capabilities are undeniable. This article deeply examines whether he will be able to address the nation's numerous internal challenges in the coming times.

As Union Home Minister Amit Shah travels from his official residence at 6-A Krishna Menon Marg to his office at North Block in the capital, his mind is likely preoccupied with serious issues such as establishing lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast, tackling Naxalism, cybercrime, and the infiltration of foreign nationals into the country. He must also take satisfaction in the fact that, due to his efforts, Article 370 of the Constitution was revoked from Jammu and Kashmir. By a curious coincidence, Amit Shah resides in the same government bungalow where the great architect Herbert Baker, who designed North Block, once lived.

On August 5, Amit Shah set a record for serving as India's longest-serving Home Minister, surpassing BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani's 2,256-day tenure with his own 2,258 days. Since taking charge of the Home Ministry on May 30, 2019, Amit Shah has brought significant changes to India's internal security, law and order, and political landscape through his resolute leadership, strategic vision, and decisive actions. His office is located in the same place where leaders like Sardar Patel and Lal Krishna Advani served as Home Ministers. Undoubtedly, these figures inspire him.
