Poverty deepens. Unemployment swells. Service delivery falters. South Africa is in a dark place. And yet, amid the shadows, Diwali arrives, not just as a festival of lights but as a clarion call to conscience.
Diwali is not merely a celebration. It is a reckoning. A reminder that darkness, be it political, economic or spiritual, is never permanent. That the lamps we light must illuminate not just our homes, but our institutions, our intentions and our collective future.
