Mom 'slapped, punched by elderly women in congregation'

A CHATSWORTH mother recounted her harrowing experience of being attacked by church members during a protest, as she sought justice for her son, who was allegedly sexually abused by a pastor

In an exclusive interview with the POST yesterday, she alleged she was physically attacked by elderly women in the congregation, during last week's protest outside his house.

The woman, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of her minor son, said she was disturbed at the behaviour of the women.

"I was attacked during the protest while carrying my two-year-old daughter. The angry women kept telling me that the pastor was innocent. That is for the courts to decide. The police had shielded me from the angry congregation. But they did not give up. They repeatedly slapped and punched me," she alleged.

She said her suspicions were raised in January this year when her son distanced himself from the pastor.
