A NEW wave of violence is eroding civilised society and urgent action is needed to stem the tide.

In recent months, there has been an escalation in violence in family relationships, unprovoked murders on our streets, road rage, institutional violence in schools and places of worship through sexual abuse and bullying, and even verbal and political violence advocated by racist comments on social media.
In a tragic incident that has shaken the community of Rydalvale in Phoenix, a parking dispute a fortnight ago escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Nico Naidoo.
