Cutting-edge thermal cameras on train may save hours in disruptions

Thermal imaging cameras are being used to help prevent delays to South Western Railway train services.

Two cameras have been fitted to a South Western Railway (SWR) train - called Hotshot - to monitor tracks in Hampshire, London, Surrey, Berkshire and Dorset - including the Portsmouth to London Waterloo line.

The technology allows engineers to tackle infrastructure problems before they cause disruption.
