Community day is a slam dunk

Portsmouth came together in style when the city’s award-winning basketball club, Portsmouth Force, hosted its first ever community fun day, the Summer Slam, drawing in around 500 people for an afternoon of sport, music and celebration.
The event was officially opened at Admiral Lord Nelson School by the Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Abdul Kadir who was joined by council leader, Cllr Steve Pitt who spoke about the power of sport and community spirit in bringing people together.
From the moment the gates opened, families and fans were treated to a vibrant mix of activities.
