EFF wants action over scholar transport permit challenges

THE EFF in the province has called on its 22 subregions across the province to formally petition the Department of Transport and Community Safety over ongoing scholar transport permit challenges.

irperson Lawrence Mapoulo expresses concern that learners from disadvantaged communities miss school due to disruptions linked to the permit processing.
The call follows a protest by several scholar transport operators last Monday, after they reported that their vehicles were being impounded, despite the department granting a 60-day grace period for operators to apply for permits.
