Staged hijackings exposed as cops recover stolen cars
Polokwane Observer
|July 17, 2025
An intelligence-driven operation led by the Limpopo Tracking Team, in partnership with Tracker Connect, Tshimollo Security and Investigation, and Limpopo Tracking Security, has resulted in the recovery of two stolen vehicles and the arrest of three suspects, with two more arrests following later.
The initial breakthrough came last Wednesday, when the teams followed up on suspicious activity at a workshop situated on Nelson Mandela Drive in the city.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a dismantled Porsche SUV in the backyard of the premises.
Investigations showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in the Zebediela policing area in May. Further searches led to the discovery of a second stolen vehicle, a hatchback that was reported stolen in Seshego in October last year.
