Mayoral send-off for beauty queen

Polokwane Mayor John Mpe recently hosted a glittering send-off dinner in honour of Miss Teenager South Africa, Pearl Mathebula, who is currently representing the country in Peru.
The event also served as a farewell to the Comrades Marathon participants from Limpopo, who took on the challenge from Pietermaritzburg to Durban the previous Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Mathebula described herself as driven by hard work, resilience and determination. Having placed in the top 10 in the 2023 Miss Teenager South Africa pageant, she now proudly advocates for body positivity and youth empowerment. “I would like to thank our mayor for this wonderful opportunity and support. This trip wouldn't have been possible without you,” she said.
