Views sought on the number of city taxis

Council urges locals to take part in consultation

Perth and Kinross Council urging local people, as well as members of the taxi and private hire trade, to share their views about the number of taxis available in Perth.

The consultation, which relates to taxis only (vehicles hailed on the street or from a taxi rank), wants to hear what people think about the number of licences issued for taxis in Perth.

Currently, there is a limit on the total number of taxi licences issued by the council, which is set at 80.

This limit is only put in place if the council is satisfied that there is no significant unmet demand for taxis, and the situation is reviewed around every three years.
