Jamie Gullan believes he can produce career-best form in Perth by working with Simo Valaraki.

The ex-Hibernian and Raith Rovers forward has signed a two-year St Johnstone deal after leaving Kirkcaldy.

Valakari's persuasive powers sold him on a move to Saints without much hesitation.

Gullan revealed: "I spoke to the gaffer a few times before signing, got a good feeling and a real buzz from him.

"I like the way he wants to play football. Everything happened quickly, as soon as I heard he was interested I spoke to him straight away.
