Return of the Mirror Man

Popular sculpture reinstalled at Loch Earn after eight-year absence

Celebrations took place by a Perthshire loch at the weekend to mark the return of a popular sculpture to its waters.

The striking ‘mirror man’ figure off the shore of Loch Earn at St Fillans, first installed in 2014, had been absent for eight years.

Its return follows a successful fundraising campaign to buy the three-metre high statue by St Fillans in Bloom.

The sculpture, entitled STILL – created by environmental artist Rob Mulholland – had been commissioned by a former owner of the lochside Four Seasons Hotel.

It was removed from the loch in 2017 when the hotel was sold, but is now once again part of the BLiSS trail, a series of sculptures and installations by artists and architects in Balquhidder, Lochearnhead, Strathyre and St Fillans itself.
