Problem neighbour concerns

An elected member has questioned what Perth and Kinross Council can do to deal with problem social housing tenants who are ruining neighbours’ lives.

The issue was raised during an update to councillors on its Transformation and Change Programme which aims to “build sustainable communities where everyone can thrive and live life well”.

Cllr Willie Robertson questioned how this can be achieved when some tenants have been creating “merry hell” in their neighbourhoods for years.

The update was given during a meeting of Perth and Kinross Council on Wednesday, May 7.

As part of the programme, PKC's Fairer Communities for All model “focuses on creating inclusive, equitable, and sustainable communities where everyone has access to essential services and opportunities”. And the “overall aim of this model is to build sustainable communities where everyone can thrive and live life well, free from poverty and inequality”.
