Plant will put Scotland at forefront of green tech

FM praises new facility on visit

First Minister John Swinney opened £15m Perthshire fridge reprocessing facilities this week.

The state-of-the-art GAP Alba Binn Ecopark facility, Glenfarg, is expected to create 50 jobs.

Designed to have a 100 per cent net zero carbon footprint, it will be powered by the Ecopark's own renewable energy from onsite wind turbines.

Mr Swinney said: "Scotland's transition to net zero is not only a moral obligation, but can provide economic opportunities to communities across the country.

"The opening of GAP Alba's new facility is an excellent example of this, bringing over 50 good, green jobs to the local area.

"It is a tangible benefit of our efforts to tackle the climate crisis, and aligns with my government's mission to ensure Scotland is at the forefront of the green tech revolution."
