Joy over Gleneagles train station timetable

Gleneagles station timetable improvements introduced late last year are set to continue to the delight of a Perthshire rail group.

Strathallan Community Rail Partnership (SCRP) pointed out this week Scotrail have made only minor changes to the Scotland-wide timetable for Sunday, May 18 to December 13, 2025-and LNER have made no changes to their Highland Chieftain service.

The improvements included additional trains serving Gleneagles Station, thereby allowing opportunities for direct travel to and from Edinburgh, Pitlochry and Inverness without the need to change at an intermediate station.

SCRP chairperson Bill Young said: "Feedback from local communities confirms that residents and visitors have appreciated the improved rail services.

"With these timetables running throughout the remainder of 2025, we hope patronage levels at Gleneagles Station will show good, consistent growth.
