Defeated keeper bit team mate on the leg
Perthshire Advertiser
|May 09, 2025
Vicious Goalie Andrew Stevenson appeared at Perth Sheriff Court for sentencing after he bit his team mate on the leg in a game which saw his side beaten 21-0
An angry goalkeeper hospitalised a team-mate by biting him on the leg and attacked two of his own fans after losing the plot during a 21-0 thrashing.
Kinrossie Caledonian AFC were already 0-5 down when Andrew Stevenson flew into a violent rage with his team-mate during a water break in the cup tie.
Stevenson attacked Arron Nicoll after a heated exchange about his defending.
The pair grappled on the ground and Stevenson claimed he had been put in a “choke-hold” when he reacted by sinking his teeth into Mr Nicoll’s leg.
Perth Sheriff Court heard that supporters - including Mr Nicoll’s father David and brother Scott - rushed to intervene during the Perth and Kinross League Cup group match.
Stevenson - a regular starting goalkeeper for Kinrossie - punched Scott Nicoll before turning on his father David punching him to the ground.
The match referee then red-carded Stevenson and sent him to the changing room before re-starting the match against Jeanfield Swifts Amateurs.
