Call for better bus services in region

Perth and Kinross bus passengers are being let down by the current service operating model according to a Green MSP for the region.

Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Mark Ruskell is calling for bold reform of Scotland's bus network

Mr Ruskell said many communities across Scotland continue to face unreliable, expensive, and patchy bus services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Services are often determined by profitability, he added, rather than public need, leaving too many people without viable transport options.

Private operators continue to receive generous public subsidies, while cutting vital routes, raising fares, and leaving passengers without a reliable service.
