Concern grows over budget deficit
Perth Theatre and Concert Hall is currently facing a £212,000 financial deficit.
At a recent council committee meeting, a Perth and Kinross councillor described the six-figure funding gap as "quite alarming".
Perth Theatre and Concert Hall has been in financial deficit for the past year partly due to a "really challenging fundraising landscape" alongside increased payroll pressures caused by changes to National Insurance contributions for employers and increases to the Real Living Wage.
Perth and Kinross Council's Scrutiny and Performance Committee was presented with a financial update from Perth Theatre and Concert Hall on Wednesday, September 17 as one of the council's arm's-length external organisations.
