The ribbons serve as a visual symbol to remember those who have been harmed and to show solidarity with survivors
A ribbon-tying ceremony at the Ribbon Gate, where community members added new ribbons to honour women and children affected by gender-based violence.
Parkscape, in partnership with several community safety groups, hosted a gender-based violence (GBV) awareness walk in Tokai Forest on Saturday as part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign.
According to Parkscape, the event started with a ribbon-tying ceremony at the Ribbon Gate, where residents added new ribbons to honour women and children affected by GBV.
The ribbons serve as a visual symbol to remember those who have been harmed and to show solidarity with survivors who continue to fight.
Parkscape said the ceremony reinforces the message that gender-based violence and femicide remain urgent societal issues requiring collective attention.
