Estuary to get an essential facelift

The Zandvlei Estuary is set to undergo some major upgrades next year to replace the existing concrete walls and fencing around.

Mayco member for water and sanitation Zahid Badroodien says as part of the project the City will replace the existing concrete caisson walls with a rock revetment.
Construction is planned to commence in September next year.
"The canal is critical as a stormwater outlet and as a functional link between the sea and the estuary.
