Turn off tap plea as water levels low

Buddies are being urged to save water as reservoir levels remain up to 28 per cent below average despite recent heavy rain.

Scottish Water said that, following the driest spring in Scotland in 70 years, and a drier than average August in the east, many reservoirs are below normal levels.

Average reservoir levels across the country were at 69 per cent last week which is 13 per cent lower than the average of 82 per cent for this time of year.
