The time is right for iconic clock to undergo upgrade

Upgrade works are in the pipeline for the “iconic” Charleston Clock Tower in Paisley in a move that has been welcomed by a veteran politician.
Renfrewshire Council has provisionally planned for minor improvements - such as painting - at the landmark, which sits at the corner of Neilston Road and Stock Street, to take place next month.
A temporary road closure of the latter will be required for site setup and access equipment while diversions and signage will be in place.
Scaffolding will also be put up at the base of the tower at street level.
