Completion hopes Revamp of Paisley Museum should be finished by the end of the year
The refurbishment of Paisley Museum has entered its final stages, Renfrewshire Council has insisted, in its latest update on the major transformation project.
It remains the case, as announced in June, that construction is expected to be complete by the end of this year - with a fit-out period to follow and reopening anticipated in the second half of 2026.
The local authority hopes the £65 million redevelopment, which has been troubled by multiple delays, will create a world-class visitor destination in the heart of the town.
However, the job has encountered a number of challenges along the way which have been outlined in a report to Tuesday's economy and regeneration policy board.
It said: “Whilst the pandemic significantly affected the original timeline, post-pandemic availability of resource in a number of trades, including specialist conservation resource and supplies, has continued to impact the project throughout.
