A new book detailing St Mirren’s history and the supporters’ love for the club is set to be released next month by two lifelong fans.
The Mirren Mile Concept to Creation A walk with key figures from the St Mirren story
(Jack Paterson and Brian Corry)
The Mirren Mile has been created by Jack Paterson, editor of the Black & White magazine, and Brian Corry, Cairters’ Corner website founder.
Tributes have also been paid to Saints fans Kenny Lang and Paul Gilligan, of the Marching On Supporters Group, for the initial brainwave, along with those who have helped bring the book to life.
Launched as a crowdfunder initiative, everyone who helped with donations and stories will have their name printed inside to mark their contribution.
The book allows fans young and old to walk with key figures throughout the St Mirren story as featured on The Mirren Mile which follows a route along Greenhill Road to the SMISA Stadium.
It tells of the work behind the scenes before introducing you to the characters featured on the banners that make up The Mirren Mile.
And it delves forensically into their back stories, providing an insight into the club's past for younger supporters.
“Both of us are lifelong St Mirren supporters and have produced a number of club-related publications,” Jack told the Express when asked about the reasons behind creating the book.
