Storm Chandra hits the nation

Wet and windy conditions caused travel disruption across Scotland as Storm Chandra swept in.

Several Met Office weather warnings were in place throughout Tuesday and warned of the potential for strong winds, rain and snow.

Rail operator ScotRail said speed restrictions were in place on some routes which extended journey times but disruption caused by a fallen tree which blocked the line between Arbroath and Montrose in Angus eased as the day went on.

Ferry operator CalMac endured disruption on the vast majority of its routes with sailings subject to delay or cancellation at short notice.
