Review brings in cash for Corseford College

Scottish Government pledges Inchinnan site support

The Scottish Government has pledged its continued support to Corseford College after an independent review found it is having a profound impact on young people with complex needs.

The college in Inchinnan, which provides higher education for young disabled people between the ages of 18 and 25, has been at risk of closure over the past year due to funding issues.

But in a statement issued yesterday, Ministers said they were committed to finding a sustainable future for the only college of its kind in Scotland - and even suggested the model could be replicated across the country.

The commitment comes five months after the Scottish Government added an amendment to its budget to pledge £1.4million to fund the college for the next two years.
