Renfrewshire charity building network to promote inclusivity

A Renfrewshire charity is launching a new initiative to support disabled people across Scotland.

I Am Me Scotland has been working with disabled people and disability groups to create a network of organisations whose aim is to ensure disabled people are valued and included within their community.

The network of businesses and voluntary groups will play a key part in helping folk to remain socially active.

To be a part of the Disability Friendly network, organisations must identify a Disability Friendly champion who will ensure key staff receive free training.

Contact cards and communication prompts will also be available free to all participating organisations.

The initiative has been funded by the National Lottery's 'Awards For All' scheme and is supported by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS).
