It was a mixed weekend of action for Ferguslie Cricket Club.
The Paisley side beat Dumfries in Saturday's Western Premiership One match moving up to third place in the standings but went down to a disappointing loss to Clydesdale in the Rowan Cup semifinal the following day.
A young Dumfries side batted first at Meikleriggs but were soon in trouble as both opening bowlers, Taimoor Ahmad and Mo Mayet, had taken a wicket before their total had even reached 20.
More grief came their way as Daoud Tahir claimed a victim at 38 while Etienne Jewell's introduction to the bowling attack proved to be the coup de grace, as the paceman proceeded to take four of the remaining wickets.
Indeed, he might have had a fifth wicket as a delivery hit the stumps, only for the umpire to adjudge a no ball, but Dumfries were soon bowled out for only 70.
The target set proved to be simple enough for Ferguslie who reached 73/2 in reply to win by eight wickets. David Stafford top-scored with 27.
