Festive fling Provost Cameron with previous winners at the Christmas lights switch on

Renfrewshire children are once again being invited to create a Christmas card that will be sent to dignitaries across the world.

Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron has tasked youngsters in primary schools across the local authority area to design a card which she can produce on mass and send to friends and colleagues.

Five designs will be selected, with the child behind each winning card given the opportunity to push the button to switch on the Christmas lights in either Paisley, Johnstone, Renfrew, Linwood or Erskine.

One lucky winner will also have the chance to receive a visit from a member of the Glasgow Clan ice hockey team to switch on their own festive lights at home.
