Park is a wonderful space for all
Paisley Daily Express
|September 16, 2025
It's been a busy and exciting month, and I've really enjoyed getting out and about to meet so many local community groups and businesses.
One highlight was the official opening of Central Park in Bishopton.
I joined pupils from Dargavel Primary for their morning assembly where we sang together and discussed why green spaces and nature are so important.
I was also proud to present prizes to four young artists whose fantastic work will now greet visitors at the park entrances - keep an eye out for them on your next visit!
Later, I joined members of Bishopton Community Council, Renfrewshire Council and BAE Systems to officially open the park.
With play areas, a climbing forest, walking paths, ponds and woodlands, there really is something for everyone.
Having followed this project for several years, it’s wonderful to see it completed ahead of schedule.
I have no doubt that Central Park will quickly become a much-loved space for both residents and visitors across Renfrewshire.
